The show, from curtain drop to last power chord, was fantastic. One hit after another was the show, from there. He opened with School's Out and closed the show with it. The surprise song for me was Department of Youth from '74's Muscle of Love lp. Older songs such as Under My Wheels, I'm Eighteen, Cold Ethyl, and more were included. Nurse Rosetta and Geoff Tate's Operation: Mindcrime songs like I Love the Dead, Only Women Bleed, and I Never Cry were performed. From the Inside and Nurse Rosetta was part of the show as well. The Welcome to My Nightmare segment featured his spider costume with ghouls moving props and ninjas fighting Geoff Tate's Operation: Mindcrime. He was hung very realistically, lost his head early, and inserted into a hospital-looking version of an iron maiden. The showman was a gracious and twisted carnival barker for the gawking audience. Historically speaking, this performance sounded as good as any post Alice Cooper Band lineup. Geoff Tate's Operation: Mindcrime sounds great. My daughter said "my stomach hurt" as he banged out the chords on that rhinestone bedazzled bass, and later said "I am gettin a foot massage." You could feel that deep signature underbelly throughout the 5th Ave Vamp's and Geoff Tate's Operation: Mindcrime's set. I was welcome to be in his nightmare for one night with my daughter.
